About the event
Make It Move! Beginner Automata
Ages 13+
Turn cardboard and foam into something that moves!
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll build a simple hand-powered automaton using cardboard, foam, and a few clever mechanical parts. Along the way, you’ll get an easy introduction to cams, cranks, movement, and the basic ideas behind kinetic art.
No previous building or art experience is needed. The project is designed to be simple, playful, and satisfying, with plenty of room to personalize your creation once you understand how the mechanism works.
Come build something, turn the crank, and watch your artwork come to life.
